My approach to nutrition and healthy eating can be explained with one, short word - REAL.
I strive to provide evidence based health information along with real and honest answers to questions.
I completed both a Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASc) and Masters of Health Science (MHSc) in Nutrition Communications at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario.
I then completed a dietetic internship in a hospital setting where I launched my career as a Registered Dietitian, staying on as a staff member. I gained clinical experience in the hospital setting working with patients living with cancer, undergoing surgery, struggling with gastrointestinal disorders and/or facing other acute health issues. It's here I realized there was a huge gap for patients when they go home after being in hospital. On their road to recovery with many answered questions about what they can eat.
I moved on from my clinical experience to an opportunity to gain and share my more in depth food knowledge and appreciation while working as a retail dietitian. This allowed me to combine the sciency world of nutrition with real world application outside of the hospital walls.
Bringing it all together, I've created a private practice where I support clients with digestive health issues along their journey. Whether fresh out of hospital with a new diagnosis or after years of struggling on their own - I'm there for my clients and support them as they navigate their real world.
I am fortunate enough to divide my time between working in my private practice, teaching nutrition at a local college and providing leadership in a hospital based position in Toronto. I love the variety in my career and believe the diverse work experiences I've had throughout my career have made me a well balanced dietitian and gut health coach.
